    Description:
The Ohio Integrated Systems Model for Academic and Behavior Supports (OISM) is a comprehensive school-wide prevention & intervention model that provides support systems which address both academic and behavioral needs of ALL students. Schools throughout the state are implementing this comprehensive prevention model because there is evidence that schools employing multi-tiered systems of academic and behavior supports raise the achievement of students, close achievement gaps, and improve overall school climate. In schools where OISM is being implemented a principle-led building leadership team is formed. This team of diverse stakeholders uses the Collaborative Strategic Planning Process to develop action plans that include high quality professional development for the implementation of school-wide reading and behavior supports, and systems for monitoring progress.

    Upcoming Regional Learning Opportunities

Teams implementing OISM attend a six-session series of trainings during the first year and receive consultation and technical assistance in successive years. Contact Alicia Lateer-Huhn at 563-0045, ext 14, if your team is interested.
