    Description:
    The State Support Team Region 13 provides professional development and technical assistance to support schools and families in Butler, Clermont, Hamilton and Warren Counties in fully implementing the Individuals With Disabilities Education Improvement Act (IDEIA). Efforts are focused on developing the capacity of school-based teams to plan, implement and sustain research-based practices that are linked to improved educational practices and high performance for all students (including students with disabilities and those who are at risk for academic and/or social failure). Our learning opportunities and consultation supports are designed to help schools make system-level changes that insure rigorous curriculum and instruction along with proactive supports toward excellence for every student. The levels of support include:

    Universal Access - Professional Development services include information dissemination available to all districts/buildings, families, and community members. These activities include regional course offerings (see STARS link on our home page), electronic information dissemination and various group meetings that support specific communities of practice.

    Special Projects - Districts engaged in special projects can access team-based high quality professional development and technical assistance. We support district and building leadership teams that are committed to implementing evidence-based practices such as: Positive Behavior Supports, Universal Design for Learning, Universal Screening of Literacy etc. We also provide targeted assistance for districts who need help with compliance issues related to IDEIA.

    Individual Assistance - School districts engaged in required School Improvement efforts recieve intensive individualized coaching assistance. This assistance includes ongoing support for developing capacity in partnership with the district and other regional and state school improvement consultants.
